Who is behind CanvasCrack
CanvasCrack is built by a small team of engineers who have spent years inside the Canvas ecosystem – from helping students troubleshoot quiz issues to analyzing how activity logs behave under real exam pressure. We focus on Canvas only instead of trying to cover every LMS on the planet.
That narrow focus lets us move fast when Canvas ships updates, adjust to changes in quiz logging and keep the extension working reliably during busy exam seasons.
Why we built CanvasCrack
Most students only discover Canvas logs when something goes wrong: a strange quiz report, a flagged attempt or a confusing message from a professor. The goal of CanvasCrack is to make Canvas exams more predictable from the student side – especially when it comes to how tab switching and background activity show up in logs.
We spend a lot of time testing Canvas behavior in different browsers, exam types and network conditions so that the extension stays fast, undetectable at the browser level and aligned with how Canvas currently tracks events. CanvasCrack effectively blocks sensitive events from being written into Canvas activity logs during exams and lets you switch browser tabs freely without that behavior being visible to instructors in quiz reports.
How we build and maintain the extension
CanvasCrack is updated in short, focused release cycles. When Canvas or major browsers roll out changes, we test those builds against real Canvas instances, adjust our code and push updates so that users do not have to think about technical details.
We monitor performance, error rates and compatibility closely. If something breaks – for example a browser update or a new Canvas feature – we treat it as a top priority to keep the extension stable during exams.
